Used as FTP software alternatives, online file managers have always been sluggish and poor in features. Yet, with the File Manager featured in the Gose Internet Services (GIS) Web Control Panel, you won’t only employ a fast, intuitive and easy–to–work–with file managing software, but also a tool that will make a third–party FTP application unnecessary. Take a look at a few of the features that we have integrated into our File Manager.
Drag ’n’ drop file uploads
The most straightforward way to add files
Posting data files with an FTP client is an outdated and really unsafe method for moving files from your PC to a web server. This is why, we have integrated drag’n’drop file publish support in the File Manager. Just pull the data files that you want to upload from your desktop into your browser and they’ll start to upload in your web hosting profile through a secure SSL connection.
There is no need to mount any extra computer software, browser extensions or applications. The drag & drop function works equally well on Windows, Linux and Mac.
Right–click context menus
Control all files with a click
A large number of File Managers include all of the actions that one can perform within a file or folder on the top of the webpage. We think the latter isn’t properly arranged. Thanks to the File Manager, you can get all file management options whenever you right–click a file or directory. This method is also valid for numerous files/folders.
You’ll be able to rename, copy, move, download, edit, preview, archive, unarchive and delete every file or directory you decide on with simply a mouse–click.
Deal with big files easily
Thanks to the integrated archive/unarchive solution, the File Manager lets you make use of substantial files and never have to use FTP. It is simple to shrink a folder into a compact size by simply clicking on the Compress button or get the contents of an archived folder by using the Extract button. When compressing a folder as well as a list of files, you will be able to decide on the archive extension (.ZIP, .RAR or .TAR.GZ) and the name of one’s archive file.
Online file editors
The fastest way to customize your files
Our File Manager enables you to manage your files entirely on the server without needing to download, adjust and re–upload them. You can update your files directly on the Internet, applying Gose Internet Services (GIS)’s included editors. We provide you with a code editor offering syntax displaying for your .PHP or .JS files, a WYSIWYG editor for HTML files, as well as a standard text editor for the more competent customers.
You have access to every file editor making use of the right–click contextual menus. All of the adjusts made to the files are reflected at once online – you are able to directly preview them within your Internet browser.
A logical folder structure
All of your files sorted with an uncomplicated way
Each of the files within your hosting account are neatly arranged into directories. Each and every host does have its main folder, that employs the file structure that you’ve pre–set. This way, it is effortless to maintain all your hosts in one place with no risk of becoming lost or puzzled.
By default, you’ll see all of the hosts conveniently mentioned in a table and if you mouse–click once on a specific host, you’ll see all of the sub–folders and files related to it. By clicking twice, you are going to go to a web page that’s devoted to that host only. An alternative way to load the folder related to a particular host and also to use it exclusively, is by using the drop–down menu near the top of the primary File Manager file table.
A user–friendly interface
Manage your data with merely a click
The Gose Internet Services (GIS) File Manager is developed in such a way as to help you feel like handling the file explorer on your computer. It is provided with a possibility to drag your files and then to drop them in a preferred location and shows all the available edit opportunities on clicking the right mouse button. At the same time, the tool features an internal file preview option as well as other file editors making it possible for you to change your files live straight from your Web Control Panel.
Also, we have integrated a set of file management posts and how–to educational videos to guide you quickly learn how to work with the tool.
Work with multiple files
Change a wide range of files concurrently
It is simple to make use of a large number of files simultaneously employing the multi–selection ability of the Gose Internet Services (GIS) File Manager. All that you should do is press the Control key and then click on the files or folders that you would like to choose. If you want to choose a couple of files/folders in a row at the same time, click on the first file/folder, press the Shift key and then choose the final file or folder within the set.
If you have selected the wanted files/folders, you can either drag them to a different place, or implement various actions to them when using the right–click context menu or the buttons near the top of the file table.
Quick & simple password protection options
The easiest method to guard your data
There is one standard way to protect a directory with a security password – by making an .htaccess file. If, however, you’re not technologically qualified sufficiently, you will have difficulty performing it all on your own. To help make things easy, we’ve added an intuitive password protection user interface to the File Manager available within the Web Control Panel.
To use the option, just right–click on a folder and choose Password Protection. Following that choose the login name and the pass word which you want to use and then press the button. That’s all. Now the selected directory will be concealed by the standard users and will be available only to authorized users.
